Video Of The Week – Annie Lennox “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”

‘Tis the season!  This week’s featured video is the stunning clip for “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” from Annie’s 2010 album A Christmas Cornucopia.  This video works on so many different levels and it’s a real pleasure to watch it over and over and find something new each time.  About the imagery for the album and videos, Annie says:

“I had a vision for the Cornucopia…which was understood, and realized by the folks at INTRO…who have actually created all the visual artwork. I’ve been totally blown away as to the level of how they understood my thoughts and reference points. In fact..They developed my ideas far beyond my own expectations…Imagine that!!!  A Christmas Cornucopia has a small underlying twist of subterfuge…which you may or may not “get”.  It’s somewhat akin to my own brand of humor, which is often delivered so deadpan that apparently makes it a little obscure..but hey! Who’s complaining here??!!   Least of all …me.  It’s not simply a piece of nostalgic confectionary, although the nostalgia is there in spades.”
